Karpman previously worked with Lovecraft Country showrunner Misha Green as the composer for her last show, Underground, and Saadiq is an HBO veteran, working as the music supervisor for the premium cable network's hit comedy series Insecure. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the score the two put together was performed and recorded by The Unison Orchestra, who are a remote online orchestra made up of members of other major international orchestras.
